Nyack Man Charged With Assault By Orangetown Police

ORANGETOWN, N.Y. — A Nyack man was charged with assault and resisting arrest and a Pearl River man was charged with criminal mischief by the Orangetown Police Department on Friday and Saturday, April 22 amd 23, respectively.

Roland King, 41, of Nyack, was charged with third-degree assault and resisting arrest early Friday morning after police responded to a call of a disturbance in the intersection of Main Street and Cedar Street, where King had allegedly struck a woman. He resisted arrest by flailing his arms, and by refusing to be put in handcuffs.

King was arraigned and charged, and will appear at a later date in Nyack Village Court.

Costel Mircica, 53, of Pearl River was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief after police were called to handle a domestic dispute where Mircica allegedly threw a rock through a window.

He was arraigned and will appear at a later date in Orangetown Justice Court.
